As Chief Commercialization Officer for Moodle, he is currently leading expansion efforts for the Moodle community globally.
Previously, as VP of Sales & Partners for D2L, he was leading the regional sales teams to offer Brightspace SaaS solutions to academic institutions, governments and corporations; providing high-quality education solutions and establishing a collaborative education network in the Region. I was also responsible for the Global Resellers and Partners Program for the company.
Before joining D2L, he launched the initiative of Socrates, and also had different roles in Blackboard, a Leader in Global EdTech Solutions. In 2005 he began his career in the Marketing area of Blackboard as VP of Global Market Development, globalizing marketing strategies for the organization. Given the expansion that the company experienced in the international arena, he assumed operations and sales responsibilities at Executive-Level in different regions such as EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa), APAC (Asia Pacific) and LAC (Latin America & Caribbean), which enabled me, in 2007 him, to take the position of President of the International Division of Blackboard. In Latin America, he was instrumental in growing the company’s operations at levels over 30% YoY in 2011, 2012 and 2013 respectively.
Prior to his roles in Bb, for more than 20 years, he served as an Executive Leader in different global companies, focused on operations, sales & marketing, with organizations such as SOFTWARE AG , SAGA Software, Telispark (Subsidiary of Deloitte Consulting) and XML Partners, Inc. (Startup he co-founded and sold to SOFTWARE AG).
He also had the pleasure of being a member of the faculty of the University Metropolitana in Caracas, where in addition to his degree in Systems Engineer, he was a professor of the School of Systems Engineering.
He is a multi-cultural US citizen, born and raised in Latin America and has had the privilege of working in the Americas, Europe and Asia Pacific.
